Album Review: Various - If I Stay Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

This compilation is taken from a movie about a girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) who has to choose between life and death following a car crash that more or less wipes out her whole family.

Despite commendable appearances from Beck, Sonic Youth and relative newcomers The Orwells, the album is let down by the very middle-of-the-road acoustic and piano ballads aimed at the heart-strings and sung by various up-and-coming bands and pseudo bands, that makes up the bulk of the recording. Fans of the film however will no doubt enjoy these moments.
