Sticky Fingers have given you a soundtrack for your summer

More Sticky Fingers More Sticky Fingers

Dealing in a genre as seemingly restrictive as reggae or ska can make it hard for a band to give it their own spin or new take.

With Land Of Pleasure, Sticky Fingers rise to the challenge. With plenty of classic backbeat sounds and a highly produced, electronic edge, they pay tribute to the classics while forging their own path.

This kind of music is always going to lend itself to a certain party sound, and Sticky Fingers deliver on that in a few different ways. Feast Your Eyes is the laidback groove to ease things in, while Just For You is the rocking heart-starter. And Gold Snafu brings a little energy and smile without ever getting in your face. Songs like Show No Shade and Just For You prove that a chilled reggae vibe can coexist with something a little more grand and ambitious.

They might be bigger, and even busier in sound, but the relaxed attitude is still there. The more Sticky Fingers work within the confines and rules, the more interesting Land Of Pleasure becomes because, while album closer Lazerheard has the most scope and room to move, the end result doesn’t really go anywhere with that freedom.
