rock posters

Street posters, rock posters, bill posters, fly posters, they go by many names around the world and are one of the oldest forms of advertising. Street posters really started to come into prevalence in Australia in the late eighteen hundreds being used to promote shows, markets and events in the major cities. Fast-forward and hundred years to 1986 and the birth of the company Rock Posters. Rock Posters have been printing installing street posters now for 30 years and still remain the market leader for advertising within the arts and entertainment industry. The company has seen many changes over the years but one thing still has not changed in all that time. A well-designed poster has a big impact on how effective your street poster campaign is.

Here are three things to remember when designing a street poster campaign:

1. Keep it simple: A lot of people make the mistake of trying to cram too much information on to their poster. That works if your ad is in a magazine or online when people have time to take it all in but when your ad is up on a wall along a highway or a railway, you only have a few seconds to get your message across, so keep it simple. For example if you are advertising a tour keep it to the essentials – who, where, when, website.

 2. Keep it bold: Another mistake people make is choosing a font that is hard to read from a distance, or too hard to read while driving, riding, or walking past. Choose a font that is easy to read.

3. Keep it bright: You want people to notice your poster so they show up to your gig. Some of the most effective posters you see on the streets have been two colour - sny fluro colour and black is number one. This colour combination stands out on the street and catches your eye over any other design. The added bonus is that two colour production is much cheaper than full colour production.

stage and screen

Born from the need for specialised travel requirements and their passion (borderline fanaticism) for the sports and entertainment industries, Stage And Screen built a travel management company dedicated to sports and entertainment clients.

From larger clients like Livenation, Falls Festival and Bluesfest through to up and coming artists, they look after them all.

But let's go back to the very beginning. Their story began in 1995 when Stage And Screen burst on to the scene to look after the unique travel needs of the music industry. By 1999 the Australian-based Flight Centre Travel Group had acquired the original business, and their team of stars were performing from offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. New offices in Auckland, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Vancouver and London quickly followed in the years 2000 to 2012, and Cape Town in 2016.

They built teams that were perfectly matched to their clients, a little bit like online dating but with all the bells and whistles! Experts in travel and fans of music, sport, TV and film, they were paired with clients as they knew not only the intricacies of their travel requirements, but the intricacies of their industries.

Soon, the best locally grown and international stars were turning to Stage And Screen to manage their travel programs.

Today their hard earned reputation is the result of their ability to manage everything from VIP travel to complex freight and logistics, right through to last minute booking changes. They are recognised as a leader in managing travel for some of the most demanding industries in the world. With their success they say being driven by industry knowledge, flexibility, innovation and most of all, their genuine love for what they do.

But above all, it’s their people that they are most well known for. With a client retention rate that almost matches their staff retention rate, you'll be hard pressed to find a more zealous, driven and energetic bunch.
