"I think that, in this record, I was trying to bring more of my life into it and pluck out these moments and explore them through song. I think I’m stuck in permanently being nostalgic. I don’t know what for, but I think that’s my life, this position."

Before their first-ever performance in the Southern Hemisphere for Harvest Festival, Sarah Braybrooke sits down with George Hayworth and Liv Morris, aka Bourgeois & Maurice, to find out how they caught the cabaret bug.

"I don’t think I was ready for Australia last time...I think we’re still learning how to do Australia as a band. Everything was different last time. The food, the people."

"But at the time it was as any breakup would be, pretty terrible. In that instance the relationship broke down about two or three weeks before we went away to record, and it obviously put me in a very different mindset than I’d been in previously."

The Mondo Cane album is “…half done already. I just have to put it in the assembly line and get it done. It basically was done by the same method the first one was done."

"Our minds are all a lot heavier with stuff; we’re all 30 now instead of 26. And it’s a different place in your head. There’s a lot of peering over the edge of proper adulthood at 30…"

"At Harvest I will enjoy it [playing outdoors] because the whole crowd aesthetic is a different kettle of fish."
