Hot Spot: Middlebar

Hating winter? Us too. All you need is a swim, a steamy spa session and a tropical Cuban drink in a tropical Cuban themed bar… and will you look at that, one called Middlebar has just opened. How convenient, yes?

The drinks menu has been designed by one of Australia's best bartenders, Lee Potter Cavanagh, who has just returned from Havana full of gin and inspiration. He's taken up the title of Executive Bartender. The focus will be on gintonic drinks served in copa glasses, and more generally they're hoping to pull of an unpretentious vibe that doesn't feel phony in a neo-speakeasy way that is so common these days.

It'll be a small bar with space to dance, the music curated by Venue Manager David Rozario. Expect international DJs and local residents.
