BAR SIDE

If you believe that variety is the spice of life, then boy, do we have the place for you.

Established in the 1960s as Hotel Central, it was renamed Half Moon about a decade ago; the bar has recently undergone a revamp, and everything about it screams “all of the possibilities!”. With a total of six stunning spaces to choose from, all of which are interconnected, you can hang out indoors or venture outside as frequently as you want.

But it’s not just versatile in the way of design – they’ve got nine menu categories to suit almost all tastes, from small share plates such as the garlic chilli prawns with tomato and white wine butter sauce, to your pub classics like their colonial pale ale-battered fish and chips. With a range like this, you’ll feel a bit like a kid in a candy store – but swap the candy for good quality, fresh seasonal produce.

On Fridays they have two-for-one cocktails in the Henry Room, as well as a Paper Scissors Rock competition – basically, you play against the bartender, and if you win, you get a free drink – which gets a double thumbs up from us.

Running with the theme for free drinks, Half Moon have also got an iPhone app that you can accumulate points on – and it’s as simple as just checking in!

FUN FACT

Half Moon have their own microbrewery in the heart of the Margaret River - which is where they source their on-tap Colonial beers.
