Kick back, cocktail in hand, on one of Fitzroy Hotel’s two outdoor decks while your kids occupy themselves on a jumping castle. Or just do the first part if you don’t have kids – either way, you get to relax!

The large shade sails will not only keep you cool, but your cocktail jugs, too; Fitzroy Windsor’s got a range of ‘em, including Sex On The Beach, Long Island Ice Tea and Midori Splice. Not into the sweet stuff? Maybe $5 Coronas are a bit more your bag. 

People-watch in the outdoor bar, or you’re after some entertainment, the pub’s also got a plasma screen and offers live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The clientele’s a real mixed bag; everyone from families and couples, locals to tradesmen and patrons up for a party come through the Fitzroy Hotel’s doors. 

With the heat rising, Fitzroy Hotel is focussing on lighter meals and salads on their regularly-changing specials board. Some appealing items of the menu include the classic salt and pepper squid, and savoury crepes – choose from creamy chicken and mushroom or veggies with a tomato sauce.

The wine list only features on-premise wine that you can’t find in bottle shops; they range from Germany, Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia and New Zealand. Not sure how to pair food and drink flavours? Not to worry, the list suggests what meals would complement your wine of choice. Too easy.

Fitzroy Hotel holds the longest continuous licence in the Hawkesbury District. Also, Captain Thunderbolt visited Fitzroy Hotel in 1850.

OUR DEAL

$10 lunch specials from Monday to Friday, which includes steak, fish and chicken schnitzel. Dinner specials include: Tuesdays – chicken schnitzel for $7.50. Wednesday and Thursday – $10 steak, chips and salad with a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink. Sunday nights from 5.30pm, if you buy a main meal you can get a second main for 50% off.
