Go Outside

Beer gardens are great places as is, but here are a few that bring something different to the table.

The Garden – 742 Newcastle St, Leederville

According to the website, Saturdays and Sundays feature some pretty cool live outdoors entertainment. Unless they’re leading us on with all those photos of costumed dancers, fire-throwers and fire-spinners... The Garden are also doing a Melbourne Cup special on 4 Nov: your ticket gets you a glass of Lauren-Perrier on arrival, spring canapes and an oyster shucker, entertainment, sweepstakes, the race screened live on big screens, and the chance to win Best Dressed prizes.

The Rosemount Hotel – 459 Fitzgerald St, North Perth

The Rosemount hosts a monthly market in their car park: the Golden Days Vintage Markets, every last Sunday of the month. There you’ll find vintage clothing stalls, baked goods from Lawley’s Bakery and a whole bunch of miscellaneous vintage goods and collectibles, such as records. Grab a bargain in the sunshine then head inside The Rosemount for a meal and a pint!

PICA Bar – 51 James St, Northbridge

This light and airy space gets plenty of sun, and starts out as a cafe before transforming into a bar later on in the day (they’ve got an extensive beer, wine and cocktails list). The seating is an inviting mix of tables and couches. Though they’ve announced they’re going to take a break from hosting live music, still keep an eye out for other events.

Rooftop Movies – Top floor of City of Perth Roe Street Carpark

Rooftop Movies is back again starting from 30 Oct. Nourish yourself with food and drinks sold out of caravans, while kicking back with family, friends, lovers, whoever, to watch a choice film. There’ll also be palm trees, deck chairs, astro-turf and pink flamingoes to have you feeling summery.
