Fringe: Left

19 September 2014 | 2:34 pm | Belinda Healy

Watching Left is a little bit like having fun with your friends in the backyard – all the performers are so smiley, seem so friendly and they look like they could be your mates. They are talented acrobats and gymnasts too, and they intertwine humour through their show. It is a joy to watch them play hilarious childlike games such as ‘Spider Monkey’. There’s also a whole other bag of tricks including juggling and balancing on champagne bottles.

While most of the show is very jovial, there is also a sombre aspect, which touches on human relationships and the need for connectedness.

The Melba Spiegeltent, Melbourne Fringe Festival, to 28 Sep
