New Jersey mathcore rockers The Dillinger Escape Plan have dropped word of a new record set for release in the not too distant future, the band's first full length release since 2009, bragging of a more holistic sound that may be followed with some Aussie tour dates in celebration.

The record, titled One of Us is the Killer, is set for May release and was created with some impressive names who have worked with impressive acts, recorded in Southern California with long-time producer Steve Evetts (The Cure, Glassjaw), and mixed by Tom Baker (Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails).

Their legacy began in the late-'90s, sending waves through the underground subculture with their mixture mind-bending metal, experimental ambience and rock, racking up four impressive records, places on Kerrang!'s '100 Best Rock Albums of All Time'(2004's Miss Machine), a Spirit of Independence Award and a multitude of fans including Nine Inch Nails and Mike Patton.

By 2009's Option Paralysis, the band had secured titles such as Revolver Magazine's 'Best Underground Band' Golden Gods award and “world's most dangerous band” from VH1's Metal Evolution, creating massive buzz leading into their next installment in the ever-growing and experimental career of the band.

Their energy and individualism will also be on show with worldwide tour dates soon to be announced – fans can keep watch for some Aussie dates hopefully thrown in there as well.

One of Us is the Killer will be released this May through a collaboration the band's own label Party Smashers Inc. and Remote Control in Australia.
