"It Wasn't A Career Move" Slash On Slash

In a story running on theMusic.com.au today, veteran Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash says he would be more inclined to make another record with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators than another star-studded record like 2010's Slash.

“It wasn't a career move, it was just a project that I did,” he says of his previous solo album, which featured guest vocals by the likes of Dave Grohl, Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Izzy Stradlin, Adam Levine, Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Fergie and Aussie Andrew Stockdale . “No, that was just sort of a one-off.”

He says that if he decides to make another record after his new album Apocalyptic Love, which is released in Australia this Friday, he'd once again work with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, with whom he made this record.

“If I was going to do another record after this tour was over I would do it with the same guys,” he reveals. "That kind of chemistry just doesn't happen all the time… You can't take it for granted when it happens. We all work really well together and there's a sort of spark there.”

On the topic of Guns N' Roses, Slash was friendly but firm in his reluctance to discuss his relationship with the other members, stating “I don't want to talk about that anymore” when prodded about communication within his former band.

Slash also mentions a return to our shores in support of the new album is tentatively planned for late September/October.
