Killing Heidi are officially BACK, announcing their first live performance in more than two years.

As they confirmed on social media, the powerhouse pop-rockers will be one of the six iconic acts appearing at this year’s Sounds Of Rock festival in Hervey Bay, joining Leo Sayer, Daryl Braithwaite, Kate Ceberano, Chocolate Starfish, Bachelor Girl and The Radiators.

The show is locked in for Saturday November 2, going down at the Seafront Oval. Early bird tickets go on sale at 9am this Thursday (May 2) – find them here.

Killing Heidi last took to stages in October of 2022, when they performed at the Red Hot Summer festival along the Yarra Valley, Caversham, Bella Vista and Kiama. Since then, frontwoman Ella Hooper released her second solo album – Small Town Temple, which arrived independently last January – and embarked on a sprawling tour of her own to support it.

Last August, Hooper also joined the likes of Ngaiire, Hatchie, Scott Baldwin of The Rubens and Mo’Ju to help Mushroom Group launch a social media initiative aimed at educating young people on abusive behaviours like sexual harassment, disrespect and violence, and the importance of calling them out.

Reviewing a live show of theirs in 2019, Michael Prebeg wrote for TheMusic.com.au that Killing Heidi “pull[ed] out all the stops, with our favourite hits and a few surprises along the way”.

Despite being regularly active on the touring circuit since their 2016 reunion, though, Killing Heidi are still yet to release any new music. Their last official outing came just months shy of 20 years ago, with their eponymous third album hitting shelves in 2004.
